Steelers Najee Harris plays a pivotal role in Pittsburgh’s offense
How Najee Harris has performed in Steelers victories
If you look at Najee’s career and how it relates to the Steelers winning games, the less Harris is used the worse their record. The more they use him, the better their record.
In all of the Steelers losses between 2021 and 2022, Najee Harris averaged 17.8 total touches per game and also averaged 52.33 yards rushing per game. He also averaged 4.2 receptions per game and 24.4 receiving yards per game.
In their victories, Najees averages 22.88 total touches per game and has at least 79.17 rushing yards per game. Oddly his receptions per game drop to 2.76 receptions per game, yet his receiving yards are 18 receiving yards per game. Still, there is only a 6.4-yard per difference in receiving yards between their victories. He has fewer receptions in wins, yet he gets nearly as many receiving yards. He functions better as a receiver when he rushes the ball well.
There is no denying when the Steelers make Harris their workhorse, they win games. Whatever arguments you make for T.J. Watt being that player is quickly negated by Harris’ stats. It occurred in 2021 and certainly carried over to the 2022 season too. So it seems Harris has a more pivotal role than many think.
