Steelers running game has found its groove

It took the first half of the season to get the wheels turning consistently, but the Pittsburgh Steelers have found their groove on the ground. Since Week 8, this has been one of the best teams in the league when it comes to running the football and doing so effectively. Against Cleveland in Week 18, Pittsburgh recorded 148 rushing yards and 2 scores.

Much of this can be attributed to the improvement of the offensive line as well as the improved play of Najee Harris and the emergence of Jaylen Warren. With all of these players under contract next season and plenty of draft capital to spend, there’s reason to believe this rushing attack could be even better in 2023.

Pat Freiermuth injury could be significant

In the second half of the Steelers vs Browns game, Pat Freiermuth could be seen on the ground, clutching his left knee. Eventually, it took two men to help him off the field as he made his way to the blue tent. Freiermuth was quickly ruled out of this contest with a knee injury.

While this may not seem significant now that Pittsburgh’s season is officially over, a major knee injury could prolong the rehab process and Freiermuth might not be able to go by next summer. Some fear that this could be an ACL injury. Let’s hope that he avoided disaster and that he won’t have to undergo a tough road to recovery this offseason.
