The NFL recently released announced the 2023 opponents each team will be facing. Here are the most interesting games the Pittsburgh Steelers will play.

The 2022 season just ended, but fans of teams that missed the playoffs this year are already looking forward to a shot at redemption next season. Now the teams out of the running can start eyeing up the competition.

Soon after the season finale and as the playoff bracket was finalized, the NFL released the 2023 opponent list for each team in the NFL. By the looks of things, the Pittsburgh Steelers will have a relatively easy schedule that includes playing the AFC South and the NFC West. However, we know how fast the tides can change in the NFL.

There are a handful of interesting games that Mike Tomlin’s team is slated to play next year. For this piece, I did not include the typical pivotal matchups against AFC North division rivals like the Bengals and Ravens. Here are the three most interesting games that Pittsburgh Steelers will all have their eyes on in 2023.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers vs Jacksonville Jaguars

There was a time when Steelers vs Jaguars games really meant something. Jacksonville was once Pittsburgh’s kryptonite as they loved to shatter our playoff hopes. In recent years, the Jaguars have been a bottom-dweller, but that could change very soon.

Under the new direction of head coach, Doug Pederson, Jacksonville has taken the next leap forward. Franchise QB Trevor Lawrence has made remarkable strides over the second half of the season. This has led to a 7-2 record to close the 2022 season that included five straight wins and a playoff berth this year. This stretch included two wins over the Titans, one over the Ravens, and a thoroughly impressive overtime road victory against the Dallas Cowboys in which the Jags managed 40 points.

Watching two young quarterbacks Trevor Lawrence and Kenny Pickett go toe-to-toe next year should be exhilarating, and these will be two potential playoff contenders battling it out next year.
