The NFL has announced the opponents that each team will face for the 2023 season. Here’s who the Pittsburgh Steelers will have on their schedule.

The 2022 season recently came to a close, and for Pittsburgh Steelers fans, it was met with a certain level of frustration. After a dismal 2-6 start, Mike Tomlin’s squad fought their way back to a 9-8 record. Sadly, a Dolphins win in their season finale saw Miami take the final AFC Wild Card spot and drive the final nail in the coffin for Pittsburgh.

Now that the 2022 regular season is in the books, we now know exactly which opponents the Steelers will face in 2023 (though the full schedule release won’t come until much later). Recently, the Pittsburgh Steelers Twitter account announced their opponents for next season.

As always, the Steelers will play their AFC North rivals twice each next season, so six of their games will come against the Browns, Ravens, and Bengals. Pittsburgh will also face two divisions next year — one from the AFC and one from the NFC.

Steelers will face the AFC South in 2023

The AFC South consists of the Jaguars, Colts, Titans, and Texans. As has been the case for much of the past decade, this proved to be one of the worst divisions in football during the 2022 season. The Jaguars seem to be the team to beat from the AFC South as they finished the regular season on a high note.

Pittsburgh will face the Titans and Jaguars at home with winnable road games against the Texans and Colts next year. Houston and Indianapolis finished as two of the bottom four teams in football this season.

Steelers will face the NFC West in 2023

In addition to facing the AFC South, Pittsburgh will also have four games against the NFC West. After a sluggish start from San Francisco, the 49ers ultimately dominated this division in 2022 — winning 10 straight games to close the season and finishing with the number one DVOA defense in the NFL. As of now, we would project this to be the most challenging game on their schedule next season, but at least it will come at home with the 49ers being forced to travel across the country for this contest.

The Rams, Cardinals, and Seahawks are all winnable matchups, but playing in Seattle next year could be a difficult road game. The Steelers swept the NFC South this year, and it might be unreasonable to believe they will do against uncommon opponents in the NFC West in 2023.

Other Steelers opponents in 2023

The final three opponents the Pittsburgh Steelers will face in 2023 come down to record. Because of where they finished, Mike Tomlin’s team will face the Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, and Las Vegas Raiders. The Packers and Patriots games will be home at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, while they will travel out west to attempt to defeat the Raiders in back-to-back seasons.
