Interesting Kenny Pickett stats for the Steelers this season

Now that the Steelers season is over, fans and analysts will argue over how well Pickett actually performed in 2022 and his ability to be the Steelers leader in future seasons. Regardless of where you fall on the subject, Kenny Pickett did provide some memorable moments for fans this season, if anything else. These moments include Pickett’s game-winning pass to Najee Harris against the Ravens, his game-winning pass against the Raiders, or his memorable second-half performance against the Saints.

In the grand scope of football, how well did Kenny Pickett do? He finished the season as the Steelers 2nd leading rookie passer, and he finished the season with 2382 yards and falls only behind Ben Roethlisberger, who had more yards in his rookie season in 2004. However, he will hold the franchise record of 245 completions by a rookie.

Other notable stats are also from Kenny Pickett’s performance this season. Kenny had a 2.5 interception rate. Even though it was only the 28th-best performance in franchise history, he only falls behind Kordell Stewart, Neil O’Donnell, and Ben Roethlisberger, who had lower rates in a single season. He had the 19th-best sack rate in franchise history at 6.74. He also became the 10th quarterback in team history to have at least three 4th-quarter comebacks and four game-winning drives. He finished just behind Ben Roethlisberger, who had four 4th quarter comebacks and five game-winning drives in his rookie season.
