Steelers could look for some bloodlines at CB

The Steelers secondary could easily become one of their bigger positions of need if they lose both Cameron Sutton and Terrell Edmunds in free agency. Even if brought back, this team is still lacking a legitimate star cornerback, and this draft seems to have a lot of options. A name already drumming up some interest is Stanford’s Kyu Blu Kelly.

Kelly has the prototypical size teams look for in cornerbacks and he is predominantly a man coverage player. He is a very physical player that will attack the run and hit receivers hard when given the chance. He can also kick inside to the slot, where his style and knack for man coverage would likely excel.

On top of all of this, he is the son of former Buccaneers cornerback Brian Kelly. The Steelers like it when prospects have NFL bloodlines, and Kelly fits the bill. Add in his play style and the need at the position, and Kelly should have placed himself on Pittsburgh’s radar now that the Senior Bowl has wrapped up.
