T.J. Watt sits down for a one-on-one with Tommy Jaggi and the Denver Broncos request to interview Brian Flores. Here’s the latest Steelers news.

Last week was pretty uneventful for Pittsburgh Steelers fans, so this past week has been a pleasant change. There was plenty going on around the NFL with Senior Bowl practices taking place all week, and with Pittsburgh’s brass on hand in Mobile, we were offered some insight as to which positions they may have an interest in addressing early in the NFL Draft.

In addition to learning a lot from Senior Bowl week, the latest Steelers news involves T.J. Watt and Brian Flores as we kick off the weekend.

Steelers news

Recently, I had the privilege of sitting down for an interview with T.J. Watt. The Pittsburgh Steelers star answered questions on a number of topics ranging from his brother’s retirement from the NFL, his health upon returning to the field for the second half of the 2022 season, and the biggest difference between defensive coordinators Keith Butler and Teryl Austin.

Watt even told me the weight he played at this past season and briefly talked about the best offensive tackle he has faced in his NFL career. You can catch my full interview with Watt as well as other player interviews and podcasts on the Still Curtain YouTube channel.

More Steelers news

In other Steelers news, the Denver Broncos have recently sought permission to interview Steelers senior defensive assistant, Brian Flores, Ian Rapoport reports. Flores initially seemed like a candidate to land the head coaching job with the Arizona Cardinals, but there has been no news on that front.

The Broncos now have Sean Payton as their new head coach, and he could be interested in Flores running his defense. Even if he doesn’t land this gig, there are still five other defensive coordinator positions open around the NFL at this time. With the amount of interest he is drawing, Flores could be headed for a promotion by another team soon.

NFL news

Senior Bowl week was incredibly telling as a handful of players greatly helped their stock during practices while others plummeted down draft boards after extremely disappointing performances. Based on their visits in mobile, the Steelers and head coach Mike Tomlin seem to have taken an interest in the offensive line group. The Senior Bowl game will be played today.
