6 offensive linemen Steelers should be enthralled with after Senior Bowl

6. Steelers should target Maryland OT Jaelyn Duncan
If the Steelers are looking for a pure pass-protecting developmental left tackle prospect, look no further than Jaelyn Duncan. The Maryland standout is an effortless mover who can mirror just about anyone in pass protection. However, Duncan isn’t without his flaws.
Though he has enough height (6′ 5 3/8”) and length (80 5/8” wingspan) for the tackle position, he is very light, as he weighed in at just 298 pounds at the Senior Bowl. This won’t cut it in today’s NFL and he will need to hit the weight room before he can earn a starting job.
Duncan is also limited in his role. He might not have enough power to play right tackle at the next level and he doesn’t have the frame to be a guard. Realistically, you are probably getting a left tackle only in the NFL out of Duncan. Fortunately, this is the most important position on the offensive line anyway.
The good news is that Duncan does possess the feet, athletism, and overall traits to be a quality starter at the next level somewhere down the line. He will require a bit of patience, but if the Steelers are content with Dan Moore for one more season, Duncan could slide in as the starter in 2024. He could end up being a steal if he reaches his potential.
