2. Steelers should target Broderick Jones

Broderick Jones is one of the more interesting first-round prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft. Jones is only a redshirt sophomore with two years of starting experience for the Georgia Bulldogs, but he has some impressive traits on film.

At 6’4” and 310 pounds, Jones is on the shorter side with a lean frame, but he has good length and he carries his weight remarkably well. Jones is an athlete by its truest definition. The former five-star recruit has fast feet and tremendous quickness. NFL Draft Buzz even has his projected 40 time as a 4.80. This would put him in the 99th percentile of all NFL offensive tackles.

For the Steelers, Jones would slide in at left tackle. Though his film is far from polished, he can make up for many technical flaws with his terrific athletic traits and his ability to keep his defender in front of him.

Jones is a relatively low-risk, but high-reward prospect who should be a lot better in year two than he is as a rookie. Still, there’s little doubt he would be an upgrade over Dan Moore from the gate. Coming from one of the best programs in the country at Georgia, this is a player Omar Khan, Andy Weidl, and Mike Tomlin should have their eye on during the scouting trail this offseason.
