Steelers mock draft round 3: OT Blake Freeland

Day two ends for Pittsburgh with their third round selection as they use it on Blake Freeland out of BYU. This would be a unique pick as the organization normally steers clear of smaller programs like this one. They saw Freeland fall to the third round and believe that he could slowly take over as the starting left tackle at some point. No need to rush a rookie into the fire of the league when you have another tackle in Moore that has a lot of experience.

Steelers mock draft round 4: EDGE Jose Ramirez

Getting back onto the defensive side of the ball, the black and gold select an edge rusher from the MAC. Mike Tomlin loves to get draft talents from that conference, and they take Jose Ramirez to become impactful depth behind their starters. This player is coming off a huge 2022 season and carried that into the pre-draft process thus far.

Steelers mock draft round 4: OC Olusegun Oluwatimi

New York paid a hefty price tag to move up eight slots in round one and the Steelers continue to benefit from that here. Another pick that addresses the offensive trenches as the club takes Olusegun Oluwatimi out of Michigan. Mason Cole has done a fine job as the starting center, but it is never a bad idea for someone to come into camp to upgrade at a depth spot. Oluwatimi could also become the starter once Cole’s contract expires unless he beats him out for a starting gig sooner.
