Steelers mock draft round 6: LB Aubrey Miller

Looking at potential battles at the bottom of the roster and needing depth, the Steelers select Aubrey Miller Jr. out of Jackson State. He is a tough linebacker that had a big year with Deion Sanders at the HBCU. Miller had a solid week down at the Senior Bowl and showed his explosive hits throughout the week.

His coverage skills as a linebacker needs a lot of work but getting a developmental prospect in the sixth round is something to expect. The pressure for him to become an immediate impact player is less with the earlier selection of Campbell. Miller can battle with Mark Robinson for depth chart positioning, but it would be fun to see those two cover kicks and punts.

Steelers mock draft round 7: WR Puca Nacua

Another Senior Bowl participant was Puca Nacua and he started off his week strong in practices before he got banged up. His draft stock seemed to be going on the rise during his short time down in Mobile. The Steelers take a flyer on him as they need some competition for their receiver room and Nacua has a decent number of snaps rushing the ball as well.

That might not be music to most Steelers fans’ ears, but Matt Canada loves to run his receivers on a routine basis. Nacua did not produce at a high level this past season, but he was showing some promising results during the Senior Bowl. That got Pittsburgh interested enough to draft him and see if he can fight his way onto the roster.

The Steelers were able to get a ton of talented players in this mock draft. They used their haul of picks from the trade back to address many areas of need on this roster for the upcoming 2023 campaign.
