Steelers Tier 8: Underwhelming reserve players

Benny Snell, Mark Robinson, Isaiahh Loudermilk, Gunner Olszewski, Miles Killebrew, Trent Scott, Jesse Davis, Elijay Riley, Jamir Jones,

My final tier includes underwhelming reserve players from the 2022 season. These are players who saw the field for limited snaps but did almost nothing to impress. Benny Snell had a respectable stretch when the Steelers had some injuries at the running back position, but he didn’t do anything that any other NFL running back wouldn’t have been able to do in the same situation. For the most part, he was hard to notice this past season.

Backup offensive linemen Trent Scott and Jesse Davis were just part-time special teamers who didn’t need to see the field with Pittsburgh’s offensive line staying intact. It’s possible both players could be replaced during the 2023 offseason.

On defense, Mark Robinson showed some flashes against the run when finally called upon. He offered some energy and big hits on defense but had some of the worst plays you will see in coverage. At the same time, Isaiahh Loudermilk has been very underwhelming in his first two seasons and hasn’t done much of anything to prove that he should be part of the future rotation on the DL.

Backup defenders Miles Killebrew, Jamir Jones, and Elijah Riley were almost solely special teams players and their jobs on an NFL roster shouldn’t be guaranteed in 2023, while Gunner Olszewski was demoted as a return man and wasn’t as good as advertised during his time with the Patriots.
