The AFC North was one of the most competitive divisions this season, and there is no indication that next season will be any different.

The AFC North was easily one of the most exciting divisions to follow this season, as its competitive nature was must-see television. While such an outcome was expected with the Bengals and Ravens, even the Steelers and Browns managed to make an impact capable of giving their rivals some trouble.

For context, the AFC North was the only division in the entire league where all four members avoided a losing divisional record, as each one finished the regular season with a tally of 3-3. Also, it was the only division to have three teams finish with positive overall records.

Especially when considering that all of this happened in spite of multiple hiccups—like the Ravens losing Lamar Jackson to injury and the Steelers having their poor start—we should, if anything, see an even more competitive version of the AFC North next season.

With increased competition comes an increased probability of chaos unfolding, and that is exactly what makes sports so fun to watch. It is also what makes trying to predict it all beforehand fun for me.

So without further ado, here are my early 2023-24 rankings for the AFC North based on each team’s likelihood to take the division crown.
