4th: Cleveland Browns

This one shouldn’t be taking anyone by surprise. At the time of the regular season coming to an end, Cleveland was visibly the worst team in the AFC North, with the Browns being the only squad of the four to finish with less than nine total wins (7-10).

The only thing that Cleveland realistically had going for it entering the 2022-23 stretch was the Week 13 debut of quarterback Deshaun Watson, but things were already looking mighty rough by that point, as the team was rocking a 4-7 record entering its battle with Houston.

And even with Watson starting, the Browns only managed to go 3-3. This was the case despite half of the six games being against losing teams. The other half were against their AFC North foes, and the only one of them that a Watson-led Cleveland could beat was Baltimore (a team that was both on the road and missing its own QB). The other divisional matchups resulted in double-digit losses for the Browns.

In short, Cleveland is the worst AFC North team according to how they look on paper, the final standings themselves, and our own eyes. With that said, expect the Browns to give the league much more bark than bite next season.
