Pittsburgh waits impatiently to find out what Aaron Rodgers will do in free agency, but the Steelers have been working. Not only are they in talks with other free agents on the open market, but they are pushing through the pre-draft process. Those positions of need could find solutions before the draft comes around.
The offensive line isn't getting highlighted enough this offseason. Three projected starters from last season left during free agency. There are too many unknowns surrounding their entire rebuilt offensive line. The starters are set in their spots, but some players are unproven and could provide poor results.
Dan Moore Jr., James Daniels, and Nate Herbig were players projected to be starters heading into last season. Moore was the only one who played the entire campaign, Daniels and Herbig suffered season-ending injuries at different points in the year. With those free agents out of the building, it would be foolish not to sign a player or two to boost their offensive line.
Steelers needs along the offensive line call for moves in free agency
Andrus Peat, OL, Las Vegas Raiders
None of the free agents on this list would command much money on their next contract.
Andrus Peat is someone still searching for his next opportunity. It is shocking to see where this former first-round pick has fallen. He once was a highly compensated player in the NFL. Different things have sunk his career, but he could be what the Steelers are looking for. Mike Tomlin loves to collect former top picks like baseball cards.
Another thing working for this free agent target is his versatility. Peat has done his best work in the NFL as a starting guard but has also shown the ability to play offensive tackle. He has limited time starting games as a tackle, but it is something he could provide. Pittsburgh needs a swing tackle, but they also need depth along the interior. Peat would give them both.
Isaiah Wynn, OT, Miami Dolphins
Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu appear to be the massive concerns going into next season. They have the draft pedigree, but neither are proven commodities at their projected spots. Jones has been stuck at right tackle but will flip back to the left side. He hasn't shown he can be a reliable option yet, and Fautanu missed most of his rookie campaign due to injury.
Adding a reliable offensive tackle in free agency is exactly what the Steelers need to accomplish. Adding Isaiah Wynn would be a terrific addition. He can push Jones and Fautanu for their starting jobs, and he has started games on both sides of the trenches. Wynn didn't play much last year, but he would be a cheap addition who can be a player to push for a starting job.

Cody Whitehair, OL, Las Vegas Raiders
Peat can play guard and tackle, Brown is a reliable swing tackle, and Cody Whitehair can play center and guard.
Versatility is something the Steelers should target in free agency. The offensive line needs depth at different positions, so any of these free agents would help fill different roles. Whitehair was connected to Pittsburgh when he hit free agency last offseason. He signed with the Las Vegas Raiders, but he is searching for another job. He is right up Pittsburgh's alley.
Whitehair appears to be done as a full-time starter in the NFL. He has plenty of starting experience throughout his career, but he would be better suited as a depth piece. He has started 121 NFL games, with some of those being at guard and center. With Herbig off the roster, it would make sense to have an option to join the club with starting experience at both interior positions.
