No Brandon Aiyuk. No Davante Adams. So, now what? Where do the Pittsburgh Steelers turn, as a team that desperately needs wide receiver help?

To catch those up who might have missed it, on Tuesday morning, the New York Jets finalized a trade to acquire wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders. After a couple of weeks of trade whispers and rumors, it finally happened.

One thing we do know, for sure, is that the Steelers were in on an Adams trade. But, they came up short this time just as they did when attempting to deal for San Francisco 49ers star wideout Brandon Aiyuk.

The offense has a clear need at the position, especially with the continued George Pickens drama that never seems to cease. So, without Adams being available, who could the Steelers pursue?

Other wide receivers the Steelers could pursue before the trade deadline

DeAndre Hopkins, TEN

At 1-4, the Tennessee Titans are likely to be in selling mode as the deadline nears. They likely won't trade any of their bigger ticket names, especially those signed this past offseason, but DeAndre Hopkins is certainly one to watch.

On the final year of his contract with the Titans, Hopkins could be had relatively cheap. The only real question is, can he be a no. 1 target at this stage of his career? The likely answer is 'no,' meaning he wouldn't necessarily solve all of Pittsburgh's woes at the position.

Amari Cooper, CLE

We know that Amari Cooper is as good as gone in Cleveland, as the Browns are reeling and have made it easier than ever for a prospective team to trade for their no. 1 wideout. He'll be a one-year rental at this point, but Cooper could find a home in Pittsburgh beyond just 2024.

If the Steelers are able to land him for a Day 3 pick (which is the likely price) then maybe even getting an extension done could be on the table. It's more likely they wait out the season and see how Cooper fits with Justin Fields and the offense, but it's not crazy to think he could have a long-term future with the Steelers.

Mike Williams, NYJ

Finally, after the Jets dealt for Adams, that leaves Mike Williams on the outside looking in. The Jets aren't going to sit Garrett Wilson or Allen Lazard, so it will be Williams that gets a downtick in playing time. There's even been speculation from insiders as to whether the Jets could end up trading Williams now after acquiring Adams.

Williams' history of injuries and inconsistent play does warrant some worry, but if he's able to be had for a late-round pick, then the Steelers should be in on a deal for him.
