5 winners (and 1 loser) from Steelers’ pummeling win vs the Browns

This was convincing.

It felt like this game dragged, but the Pittsburgh Steelers did what they needed to in order to beat the Cleveland Browns in Week 6. Though Mike Tomlin's team got off to a slow start, it never felt like the Browns had much of a chance in Pittsburgh's 23-9 win. Once a small lead was established, the Steelers' defense punished Cleveland.

Naturally, this leads to a healthy amount of winners. While it would have been preferable to see more dominance overall, this was still a solid win for the team. It was a solid win from start to finish.

The Pittsburgh Steelers had some massive winners from their dominance over the Browns

Steelers Winner: Darnell Washington

It took six games, but the Steelers finally got their big breakout performance from Darnell Washington. While we saw a big workload for the freak tight end against the Vikings, he finally saw some action in the passing game.

He didn’t disappoint. Washington was a huge target who showcased that sneaky athleticism with the ball in his hands. He has played like the starting tight end the past few weeks and should continue to see the heavy usage.

Steelers Winner: DK Metcalf

Had Aaron Rodgers been a little more accurate, you would have been talking about a massive day for D.K. Metcalf. That said, it was still a big game from their top receiving weapon. He certainly looks like the top dog that you hoped he would be.

Steelers Loser: Defensive Hands

For one of the better turnover teams in the NFL, this game wasn’t it for the Steelers. Multiple interceptions went through their hands. It was sloppy, but thankfully, it didn’t cost them in the end.

Steelers Winner: Nick Herbig

Even with Alex Highsmith back, Nick Herbig got plenty of work this week. He made the most of his opportunities, tallying two sacks and looking like a dynamic pass rusher. He is the second-best edge rusher on the defense right now, and that isn’t an indictment of Highsmith.

Steelers Winner: Broderick Jones

You can add the Myles Garrett game plan as a whole and consider it the winner here, but that ultimately starts and stops with Broderick Jones. He didn’t let one of the best pass rushers in the league win. Yes, he got help, but he still won his matchups when called upon. For all the bad press he gets, he had a good game this week.

Winner: Jalen Ramsey

We have seen Jalen Ramsey do a lot this season. He has been stout and physical in coverage, and we saw his ability to get after the quarterback with two sacks. He has easily been one of the best additions to this roster in recent years.
