The Pittsburgh Steelers picked up a win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, but they didn’t escape the Week 11 game without some bad news. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers left the game early with a left wrist injury, and that left a dark cloud over the win. Late Sunday night, there was an injury update for Rodgers, and it wasn’t great news.
NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the initial concern is a slight break in Rodgers' left wrist. The veteran quarterback will undergo more testing on Monday, and the results of those tests will determine the severity of the injury, and how much time Rodgers will miss, if any.
The initial concern is that Aaron Rodgers has, in the words of one source, “a slight break” his left wrist, but the Steelers quarterback will underdgo further testing Monday to determine the full extent of the injury and how long he’ll be sidelined, per league sources. pic.twitter.com/Or2YHzFMBk

Steelers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers feared to have a slight break in left wrist
It’s important to note that the injury is to the quarterback’s non-throwing hand, but even still, it’ll be pretty hard for a quarterback to play with a broken wrist on his off hand. However, NFL insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that Rodgers has indicated to people close to him he’ll be back soon. The quarterback does have a reputation of toughing it out, and playing through injuries, so it’ll be interesting to see what the official diagnosis is for Rodgers, and what his plan is moving forward.
The Steelers are 6-4 on the season, barely holding on to the top spot in the AFC North over the 5-5 Baltimore Ravens, but they are in the thick of the playoff race. Pittsburgh has gone all in on winning a Super Bowl this season, with all of its veteran acquisitions, and Rodgers is at the center of that. It’d be unfortunate if all of their plans had to hang in limbo while the quarterback is sidelined for a while.
Rodgers entered Sunday’s game completing 66.8% of his passes for 1,853 yards, 18 touchdowns, and seven interceptions on the season. Before leaving the action against the Bengals, the quarterback completed 9-of-15 passes for 116 yards and a score. Mason Rudolph came in once Rodgers was injured, and he will be the starter for however long Rodgers is sidelined.
