The 2026 NFL Draft is finally here, and the last round of insider mock drafts is coming out as the first round gets closer. Like he does every year, NFL insider Daniel Jeremiah dropped his final mock draft the night before the draft. He’s built a strong track record with these, so his last projection always carries a little more weight than most. That includes his prediction for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In his final mock, he has the Steelers going in a bit of a different direction, picking a player who hasn’t really been tied to them much throughout the process: Clemson offensive lineman Blake Miller. That said, the position itself has been picking up steam lately and is starting to feel like a real possibility. It might not be the most obvious choice, but it's gaining traction and could very well be the route Pittsburgh takes on Friday night.

With the latest update on Broderick Jones, things have gotten a little more complicated for the Steelers up front. After landing on injured reserve last season following a Week 12 neck injury, he’s now dealing with a setback in his recovery, and there’s no clear timeline for when he’ll be back on the field. To make matters even more uncertain, the May 1 deadline for his fifth-year option is right around the corner, and it increasingly looks like Pittsburgh will be moving on from that decision.

Because of that, the idea of the Steelers taking a tackle in the first round has started to pick up real momentum. What was once more of a deep conversation is now looking like a legitimate possibility, especially with the long-term outlook at left tackle opposite Troy Fautanu suddenly in question.

Miller has been a steady presence at Clemson, starting 53 games at right tackle and bringing a lot of playing experience. If the Steelers did go this route, it could also create some reshuffling along the offensive line, with Troy Fautanu potentially sliding over to left tackle, a spot he handled frequently during his time at Washington.

Of course, the Steelers still have a lot of different ways they could go depending on how the board falls, and this is shaping up to be one of the more unpredictable first rounds in recent memory. But given the uncertainty around Broderick Jones and the importance of solidifying the tackle spots, it wouldn’t be surprising at all if Pittsburgh ends up reinforcing the offensive line again on Day 1.
