You can take the Pittsburgh Steelers coach away from the sidelines, but you cannot take his disdain away from some of his AFC North rivals. Mike Tomlin might be gone as the head coach of the Steelers after his 19-season stint, but you still see his favoritism lean towards his former employer. Most people are dogpiling on the Cleveland Browns' failure in Week 1, and Tomlin is one of them.
"In the words of my good friend JuJu Smith-Schuster, the Browns are the Browns," Tomlin said, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor.
This was what Tomlin had to say when he gave his opinion on his former rivals' outing against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1. It was a matchup to forget for the Steelers' bitter enemy as they lost their opener on the road 34-10. That statement might've turned around to bite Pittsburgh in the past, but it's true. For the most part, the Browns are a team who continue to be a laughingstock.
It's wild to see how Mike Tomlin is starting to show a different character after his head coaching position became nonexistent. Either he is starting to show what his personality truly is, or he's putting on some sort of act to survive in his new profession. Either way, this new slam against the Browns is something Cleveland will hate, but until they start winning football games, they can't debate against it.
