Another season filled with high hopes comes to a disappointing end after an early playoff exit against the Ravens, and the Pittsburgh Steelers front office is left to pick up the pieces. For the first time since 2017, it finally looked like Mike Tomlin's team had a chance to make a splash in the postseason... but that was before their monumental collapse to close the year.
Take a deep breath. It's going to be okay.
While the postseason didn't turn out how we had hoped, the Steelers have done a good job building the foundation of their roster for the future under general manager Omar Khan and assistant GM Andy Weidl.
Now comes the inevitable roster turnover. Around the NFL, hundreds of players have expiring contracts and will be free to sign with new teams in free agency. The Steelers have no shortage of players who could jump ship this offseason.
Though a handful of these players could return to Pittsburgh on new deals, most will say their final goodbyes to the organization in free agency. Here's a full list of Steelers free agents in 2025.

Let's start with the biggest and most important players at the top of the list. Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are both unrestricted free agents who could sign with another team this offseason.
However, despite the way the season ended for Pittsburgh, the Steelers seem likely to bring back at least one of these quarterbacks for stability and act as a bridge QB for the 2025 season. Third-string quarterback Kyle Allen also has an expiring contract.
The Steelers could also be looking at a new running back room in 2025. Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren—Pittsburgh's top two rushers since 2022—could ink contracts with new teams in free agency. It's worth noting that Warren is a restricted free agent, which means the Steelers could place a tender on him to ensure he stays in Pittsburgh.
Dan Moore Jr. and James Daniels are the most notable offensive linemen set to depart in free agency. Early in the year, Moore looked like a player the Steelers needed to re-sign (especially in the midst of Broderick Jones' struggles and Troy Fautanu's season-ending knee injury). However, by the end of the season, it became obvious Pittsburgh needs to turn the page on the veteran tackle who gave up 10 sacks since the bye week.
Daniels, meanwhile, was having a career year in Pittsburgh before suffering a season-ending injury. If healthy, he could fetch a respectable contract with a new team.
The Steelers are set to have fewer notable losses on defense, as their top defensive free agents include linebacker Elandon Roberts, cornerbacks Donte Jackson and Cam Sutton, safety Damontae Kazee, and defensive lineman Isaiahh Loudermilk.
None of these departures would be a devastating blow to Pittsburgh with the exception of Roberts. The Steelers could attempt to work out a short-term contract with the physical linebacker to keep him in Pittsburgh.
