Is Jaylen Warren playing today vs. Ravens? Full injury report for Steelers' RB
The Pittsburgh Steelers are riding quite the wave of momentum, but in facing their first test in the AFC North, they need all the help they can get, especially on offense. If Lamar Jackson is consistent with his 2024 performance so far, Pittsburgh will need to keep pace offensively.
An explosive weapon like Jaylen Warren would significantly boost that effort, but the third-year back from Oklahoma State has struggled to stay healthy. He's dealing with his third different injury this season, and his status in today's game against Baltimore is in question.
Warren has played in all seven of Pittsburgh's wins, though he hasn't finished them all. To this point in the season, Warren has yet to reach the endzone on 55 carries for 217 yards. He's also added 14 catches for 96 yards. Warren is particularly efficient in grinding out yards to convert first downs. He's picked up 15, fifth on the team.
Will Jaylen Warren play despite back injury?
Warren missed practice Thursday due to a back injury and was limited on Friday. Officially, he is listed as questionable for today's game.
Because of the timing of the injury, practice participation, and roster moves, it wouldn't be too surprising for Warren to sit this one out. Of course, this isn't just any other game and if ever there was a time to push through the injury, this is one of them.
According to Adam Schefter late Saturday night, Warren is expected to play barring any pregame setbacks.
The Steelers may still look to Cordarrelle Patterson a bit more to limit contact for Warren. Still, having Warren as an outlet option for third downs will be welcome news for the Steelers offense.
