As if the franchise didn't already have plenty to be disappointed about this season, Pittsburgh Steelers fans now have to deal with Kenny Pickett going to the Super Bowl as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.

In his first year away from the Steelers, the former Pittsburgh first-round draft pick is part of an Eagles team that will play in this season's Super Bowl after they got a 32-point win over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship on Sunday.

Pickett has been Philadelphia's backup quarterback behind Jalen Hurts during the 2024 campaign, so it's not like he had a gigantic impact on the Eagles making it to the Super Bowl for the second time in the last three seasons. But it's still annoying to know that he will get to suit up for a Super Bowl, while the majority of his former Steelers teammates will watch the big game from their couches.

Super Bowl drought continues for Pittsburgh Steelers as Kenny Pickett heads to the big game with the Philadelphia Eagles

During their existence, Pittsburgh has won a total of six Super Bowl trophies. However, the Steelers' last win in the Super Bowl took place all the way back in 2008 and they haven't appeared in the big game since they faced the Green Bay Packers in 2010.

Throughout this entire Super Bowl drought, Mike Tomlin has been Pittsburgh's head coach. The Steelers have been one of the most consistent teams in the NFL with Tomlin leading the way, but they haven't won a playoff game since the 2016 season, and more and more members of the fan base have been wondering if Pittsburgh needs to move on from Tomlin sooner than later.

The Steelers are going to stick with their head coach for at least one more year. But if Pittsburgh ends another season in underwhelming fashion, then it might be time for the organization to finally move on from Tomlin if they ever want to snap their Super Bowl drought.
