One NFL Insider believes Russell Wilson won't be on the Steelers in 2025.

We don't know who the Pittsburgh Steelers will have leading the charge at quarterback in 2025, but the latest rumor suggests it won't be Russell Wilson.

During Radio Row, NFL Insider Jay Glazer sat down with Matthew Berry and Connor Rogers for NBC's Fantasy Football Happy Hour. Glazer was asked bout Wilson potentially reuniting with former head coach Pete Carroll in Las Vegas but quickly shut down the idea.

Rogers then asked Glazer if he thinks it's more likely Wilson will go back to the Steelers, but Glazer doesn't believe that will happen.

"I don't think that's gonna happen either," Glazer explained. "I think you'll see a new start for Russell [Wilson] somewhere."

While we can't say for sure if Glazer is merely speculating or if he has inside information from league sources, a Wilson-Steelers divorce wouldn't be surprising. Over the last five games to close out the year (including the playoffs), Wilson led an offense that averaged just 14 points per game losing all five games during this stretch.

Wilson's playoff performance against the Baltimore Ravens won't help his case, as the 36-year-old quarterback was held scoreless until the third quarter and finished the game with just 14 points.

Steelers must move on from Russell Wilson, despite no good answer in sight

It's true the Pittsburgh Steelers could do worse than having Russell Wilson at the helm in 2025. But we've already tried this once. At 36 years old and on a veteran minimum contract it wasn't good enough, so what would make Mike Tomlin and the front office believe Wilson can get the job done at age 37 on a thirty-time larger contract?

At the risk of taking a step back, the Steelers need to move on. It would be better to gamble with Justin Fields at this point or make a surprise move for a quarterback—something other than running it back and expecting different results.

Realistically, the Steelers won't be Super Bowl contenders next season, regardless of what they do. But we can safely assume sticking with Wilson keeps Pittsburgh in purgatory. This would likely result in another 9 to 11-win season with an early playoff exit if they make the tournament.

The rumor mill surrounding Russell Wilson is swirling right now, and the Steelers won't have long before they need to choose who will be leading the charge at quarterback in 2025. The early signs seem to suggest it won't be Wilson.
