For a week now, we've known that Davante Adams wants out. And, for a couple of days now, we've known the Pittsburgh Steelers are officially in on trying to trade for the star wide receiver.

As the Las Vegas Raiders try to navigate the situation while hopefully getting what they'd like in return for Adams, things haven't gone exactly the way they'd had hoped.

One of the most recent updates from Bleacher Report's Jordan Schultz reveals as much.

The key here is that there doesn't seem to be a team willing to pay what the Raiders are wanting for Adams. In fact, the interest level sounds shockingly low.

Or, is it shocking?

Maybe, based on the Raiders' asking price, it isn't surprising to hear there aren't any teams willing to pay that price.

But, if you're the Steelers, you might not have a choice but to pay a second-round pick for the star wideout. The need for a true alpha and a true professional at the position is becoming clearer and clearer in Pittsburgh.

If there's no other team willing to pay what Vegas wants, why not take the risk if you're the Steelers and just get it done?

George Pickens is giving the Steelers an even stronger case to trade for Davante Adams

After the Steelers' most recent outing against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday night, it has never been more apparent that the team and wide receiver George Pickens are at a crossroads. Pickens is arguably the Steelers' only legitimate, highly-talented wideout, yet he was put on a snap count likely due to his attitude and then proceeded with a half-hearted effort all night long.

This is nothing new for Steelers fans. Pickens' attitude has been more about himself than the team since he got to Pittsburgh. He had character questions coming out of Georgia when the team drafted him. The warning signs were all around, yet Pittsburgh figured that a head coach like Mike Tomlin would be able to help steer him in the right direction.

At this stage, it's evident that Pickens and the Steelers need a breakup. As for which team, coach, quarterback or system would make this guy happy? We may never know. He very well could be the type of player who is never satisfied. The ego far outweighs his passion for the game and willingness to be a great teammate.

And, if the Steelers are soon to be without Pickens or they continue to limit his snaps, that gives all the more reason why an Adams trade makes a ton of sense.

Not only does there seem to be an opening for Pittsburgh to jump, right now, but the need for this team is starting to reach a. magnitude that cannot be ignored.
