The Pittsburgh Steelers' win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 15 didn't take us by surprise. Mike Tomlin's team sat on a 7-6 record, and to ensure they kept pole position in the AFC North, a win was required. The Steelers have also been phenomenal over the years on Monday Night Football, while the Dolphins have struggled in cold weather.

Our predictions came to fruition. The Steelers advanced to 8-6 with the big primetime win, as Pittsburgh has now made it 23 consecutive home victories on Monday Night Football. The last time they lost a game in this setting came all the way back on October 14, 1991, against the New York Giants.

In the process, Coach Tomlin increased his total to 22 Monday night wins—two above Sean Payton. Tomlin is now just one Monday night victory away from tying the great Bill Belichick and two away from tying Andy Reid for second place.

Somehow, this wasn't Tomlin's biggest achievement in Week 15.

Pittsburgh Steelers' Mike Tomlin makes history on the all-time win list

A quiet storyline leading up to the Steelers vs. Dolphins game was Mike Tomlin's positioning among the all-time head coach wins list. With 190 career wins heading into Monday Night Football, Tomlin needed just one victory to jump ahead of Dan Reeves. He accomplished this with all eyes watching on MNF.

With this victory, Tomlin took sole possession of 10th place for the most wins in a head coach's career.

Next stop? Chuck Noll. The Pittsburgh Steelers legend of the Steel Curtain dynasty finished his career with 193 wins, and if the Steelers find a way to win out, Tomlin could surpass Noll on the all-time wins list as soon as the finale of the 2025 season.

Several spots above Coach 'T' on the all-time win list are within striking distance, and depending on how long Tomlin would like to keep coaching, it's not impossible that he could climb into the top five.

We give Mike Tomlin a lot of flak for his team being just good enough to be relevant by the end of the season. The Steelers have lacked postseason success, and they haven't had a playoff win in going on nine years. Those are the stats fans care about most.

But we need to give Tomlin his flowers. The Pittsburgh Steelers' head coach just made NFL history, and football fans should celebrate this legendary achievement.
