NFL All-Quarter Century Team snubs troubled former Steelers playmaker

ESPN just proved this entire list of names is a joke.

ESPN has cooked up some controversial articles in the past, but their NFL All-Quarter team is atrocious. They had to make some tough selections, but they left off some of the best players in favor of others. It wasn't easy to make specific choices, but there were crystal clear options from the Pittsburgh Steelers who should've made the roster.

It was almost laughable with some of the names they kept off the team.

Antonio Brown might be the one who stood out the most. While the receivers who made the team deserve their accolades, Brown was one of the most dominant receivers in NFL history during his career. He has struggled with legal problems towards the tail end of his career and retirement, but that shouldn't keep him off this list. If ESPN wanted the best roster, the former Steelers superstar would be on it.

The likes of Randy Moss, Julio Jones, and Calvin Johnson deserve to make the team. You could argue that Brown posed as formidable a receiving threat as those NFL legends. Perhaps Brown deserves to jump over Johnson or Jones to make the team. The issue lies with Justin Jefferson making this roster over Brown. A young star receiver over a Hall of Fame talent is pitiful.

Antonio Brown neglected from this roster is a slap in the face to Pittsburgh Steelers

ESPN might be straying away from the former Pittsburgh icon due to his ongoing legal cases. Even if that's the case, Brown is someone who has immense talent worth making this team. His numbers compare favorably to Jones, Johnson, and Marvin Harrison. Add on the fact that AB won a Super Bowl before he retired, and his stock for making this roster skyrockets. This list is mind-boggling.

Jefferson is where most people should have an issue with this article.

Yes, he is having a fantastic start to his career, and he could become one of the best receivers when it is said and done, but he has a lot to accomplish. Jefferson has produced 7,432 receiving yards in five seasons compared to Brown's 12,291 receiving yards throughout his 12-year career. Jefferson is on track to beat that, but he still has to accomplish that feat.

The article lists Brown as a practice squad member, which would be a hectic personality to hold onto the practice unit. He would hate to miss the active roster in this scenario. It's supposed to be a fun piece to conjecture over, but leaving Brown off the team is a joke. He remains one of the most prolific receivers of his era of football. He was a special player with the Steelers.

Pittsburgh won't be too surprised Brown is left off this list.

He had all the talent in the world, but his toxic personality only grew with more fame that entered his life. It was sad to see Brown fizzle at the end of his career with multiple suspensions and his infamous shirtless walk off the field to end his career. Brown had an abundance of talent, but his personality might've cost him a spot on this accomplished team.
