NFL insider rips Aaron Rodgers for keeping Steelers in dark

This has to end... now.

Pittsburgh Steelers fans have had more than enough of the Aaron Rodgers waiting game. After letting Rodgers show up on his own timeframe last season, the 42-year-old is now dictating the terms again.

We've seen this song and dance before... and nobody wants it—not even the national media.

Steelers fans aren't the only ones fed up with the Rodgers drama. On Tuesday, NFL insider Mike Florio of NBC's Pro Football Talk voiced his frustration with the whole Rodgers situation. Florio has had enough, and he was adamant that the aging QB needs to give the Steelers an answer immediately.

"The waiting game continues for the Pittsburgh Steelers when it comes to Aaron Rodgers. OTAs begin on May 18. There's a vibe out there that they expect to know what he's going to do by then. But you know what? They've expected to know what he's going to do at several different points throughout the offseason.

At what point is this going to end? Surely it will end. Surely it won't continue into June. At some point, you've got to know what you're going to do. At some point, you've got to make a decision... If he truly doesn't know, it's time to figure it out. And if you do know, it's time to let everyone else know so everyone can get ready for the 2026 football season, which will be here before we know it."

The Pittsburgh Steelers must give Aaron Rodgers a final ultimatum

It's really that simple at this point. Both general manager Omar Khan and team president Art Rooney II have walked back on their words. They expected an answer from Rodgers by the NFL Draft. Well, guess what? The draft came and went, and still not a whisper from Rodgers.

The Steelers' decision-makers need to have some self-respect. It's time to set a hard deadline for Rodgers (and stick to it this time).

Organized Team Activities start on May 18, and that should be the hard deadline.

Last year, Rodgers didn't sign a contract with Pittsburgh until June 5. The Steelers can't give him that long this year. Rodgers missed opportunities to connect with his teammates and start building chemistry by skipping 2025 OTAs. Khan can't allow that to happen this time around.

Florio's right. The Pittsburgh Steelers can't be left in the dark any longer by the league's oldest quarterback, who, over the past five seasons, has only been a shell of the MVP he once was. The Steelers need to know if and when he's coming, and they need a commitment that Rodgers will be here by OTAs. If not, it's time to pull the plug and aim toward the future.
