Make no mistake about it: even though the Pittsburgh Steelers sit at a 2-2 record, they plan on competing this season. Their latest setback against the Cleveland Browns might've exposed them as an average team once again, but that locker room doesn't want to come to terms with another campaign of more of the same.

If this season sees them stack losses as the trade deadline approaches on November 10, they might be forced to put some players on the trade block.

There are a handful of interesting names on both offense and defense who could be trade targets for other teams. They could be plucked from the Steelers roster for the right price, and if Pittsburgh is low in the standings, these are players they should consider shipping out of town.

It's unlikely the team will want to admit defeat until the final moment, but if they do, these players could get traded.

Pittsburgh Steelers could make headlining names available on the trade block if the season unravels

Aaron Rodgers

It's hard to envision a reality where Aaron Rodgers gets traded, but the quarterback play around the NFL is terrible, and if a playoff contender needs a starter, you better believe Rodgers will want a shot at winning.

The Steelers fully believe Rodgers can help get them back into the playoffs, but they shouldn't be so certain. This scenario would take a lot of things falling into place, but we've learned never to say never.

Patrick Queen

He's on an expiring deal, and his inconsistencies continue to frustrate Steelers Nation. Patrick Queen would be a prime candidate to hit the trade block if the team is out of the running when the deadline comes around. He might be one of their more valuable pieces who could realistically get moved. Queen just hasn't lived up to the hype, but he could be a nice addition for a playoff contender.

DK Metcalf

This would be a wild move, mostly because DK Metcalf carries a massive contract with him. With all of that being said, perhaps the Steelers would be willing to eat some of that cap hit to get his money off their books. The embattled wide receiver just hasn't become a true top target on offense in Pittsburgh, and his early-season struggles have made things worse.

Perhaps a change of scenery would do the player and team wonders.

Asante Samuel Jr.

After a strong summer, the organization took a gamble on him by shipping out Joey Porter Jr. Now the team is struggling as Asante Samuel Jr. is starting to regress and injuries are stacking up in the secondary. Samuel is on an expiring contract and is unlikely to return next year at this juncture. The Steelers might be able to land something in a trade for the young starting corner.

Brock Hoffman

Most of Brock Hoffman hitting the trade deadline would count on two things happening. One, Gennings Dunker returns from injury and is ready to start, and two, Hoffman shows enough that a club is willing to give up assets for him. Hoffman has helped the offensive line improve, but the game against the Browns wasn't ideal. Pittsburgh could make him expendable if a team comes calling.

Jaquan Brisker

It would be difficult to witness Pittsburgh's own Jaquan Brisker ship out of town after barely being here. He was close to Joey Porter Jr., and he didn't have a chance to play with him, which disappointed everyone. The Steelers need to do what's best for the organization, and the truth is that Brisker might be one of their best players to put on the trade block if this season sinks in a hurry.
