As the world of the Pittsburgh Steelers currently sits upside down due to the news of Mike Tomlin stepping down, the NFL world doesn't stop.

D'Angelo Ponds, CB, Indiana
While everyone is interested in seeing what Indiana's offense does behind projected top pick Fernando Mendoza, don't sleep on their defense. They have gone under the radar on this playoff run, and D'Angelo Ponds is a big reason for their success. He is a short cornerback, but he continues to make a positive impact. He is a Curt Cignetti follower from James Madison to Indiana, and it's paid off.
Ponds projects to be a Day 2 player at the upcoming NFL Draft, and the Steelers would be wise to hold interest.
He primarily played as an outside corner in college, which could impact his draft stock, as he stands only 5'9. Despite his lack of size, he remains a consistent turnover machine who isn't afraid to attack opposing runners. His lack of size is concerning, but Ponds’s fierce attitude is unmatched.
Carson Beck, QB, Miami
With Tomlin leaving the Steelers, it appears Aaron Rodgers won't return either. That means Pittsburgh will need another quarterback on their roster, and potentially a starter. Carson Beck hasn't lived up to the hype throughout his collegiate career, but he has shown up in big moments. His time with the Hurricanes has been somewhat of a rollercoaster, but he has gotten them through the playoffs.
Beck hasn't produced massive numbers in the playoff tournament, but he has won big games. Throughout this season, he has defeated four top-ten-ranked teams in major matchups. He won't be a top pick in the upcoming draft, but if the Steelers want a winner on their roster to help push some guys, Beck is a solid choice. The big-name quarterback could be worth a mid-round pick.

Omar Cooper Jr., WR, Indiana
His fellow teammate, Elijah Sarratt, has gained plenty of attention in the playoffs, but don't overlook Omar Cooper Jr.
The Steelers are in desperate need of help at the receiver spot, and either Sarratt or Cooper could be the top targets in the 2026 NFL Draft. They have both proven to be reliable threats who should transition their games to the professional ranks well. He has emerged as a reliable touchdown threat for Indiana.
Keionte Scott, CB, Miami
Another cornerback makes the list here, as the Steelers could look to rehaul their secondary this offseason. Keionte Scott made headlines with a fantastic start to the college football playoffs during Miami's upset over Ohio State. Scott delivered a highlight-worthy pick-six that helped lead the Hurricanes to victory. His follow-up performance was quiet, but scouts have high expectations.
Scott needs to have another big play or two if he wants to raise his draft stock.
He is primarily a slot cornerback with limited experience on the outside. He has plenty of talent, but it's not common for a team to reach for a slot-only cover guy in the NFL Draft. The Steelers could use some help in that department, and Scott could be their top target. He's projected to go late on Day 2 of the draft.
