Ever since the Steelers concluded their season by losing five straight games in a row, fans have been demanding change. Not much happened to their coaching staff, and no one should anticipate much changeover. Pittsburgh's football club has a recipe for sticking in the mushy middle of the NFL, and they are one organization comfortable with that.

The standard is no longer a term of high-level accomplishment within the Steelers organization. They want to keep Mike Tomlin's non-losing season streak alive. Until that ends, it seems like there will be little to no change in logic.

This mock draft shows how the Steelers will stick to their guns forever.

Pittsburgh Steelers 2025 7-round mock draft

Steelers Mock Draft Round 1: Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon

They truly believe winning in the trenches is where they could remove themselves from mediocrity. They invested high picks in the offensive line, so now they must go after the defensive trenches. It makes sense, as the Philadelphia Eagles just won the Super Bowl with a roster full of talent across the offensive and defensive lines. Pittsburgh will continue to show them as the perfect example.

Derrick Harmon falls in the Steeler's laps with their first-round selection. He would be of tremendous value at this point. The defensive tackle can help infuse quality and youth into a position group that has become too reliant on Cam Heyward. Harmon had a breakout season with the Ducks, but it is a little concerning that he only produced one productive campaign when he had talent around him.

Steelers Mock Draft Round 2: Savion Williams, WR, TCU

All signs point to the Steelers addressing their need at receiver before the draft. It's a weak crop of prospects at the position, so it would be wise for Pittsburgh to add to this need through a trade or free agency. They have zero excuses to go into next season without a reliable option outside George Pickens. In this mock draft, they decide to address the need early.

They select Savion Williams to hopefully integrate a new weapon on offense.

Taking Williams here would be a little rich. He hasn't produced great numbers throughout his college career, but he has size and athleticism you cannot teach. He is coming off his best season yet, but that only yielded 611 receiving yards and six touchdowns. His height of 6'5 and weight of 225 pounds, coupled with the speed and elusiveness he shows, is hard to pass by.

Steelers Mock Draft Round 3: Darius Alexander, DT, Toledo

Tomlin and those who represented the Steelers at the Senior Bowl wanted to keep a close eye on the defensive tackles. Don't be surprised if they double-dip at the position in a draft class filled with talent along the defensive line. They could potentially find a starting capable player on day three if they truly wanted to take a gamble.

Harmon went to Pittsburgh earlier in this mock draft, but they added Darius Alexander to end the second day of this simulation. He had a terrific week at the Senior Bowl and showed growth at Toledo. Alexander is an older rookie coming out of the draft, but he should have more juice to grow at the NFL level and can help defend against the run one day.

Steelers Mock Draft Round 4: D.J. Giddens, RB, Kansas State

Kansas State benefited immensely from D.J. Giddens in the fold the past three years. He decided to forgo his Senior year and enter the draft early. He will be one of the younger prospects to enter the pro ranks in this class. His three years as a Wildcat were productive, but the past two campaigns shoved him into the spotlight.

Giddens was the main offensive weapon at Kansas State. He has been able to accumulate an impressive resume and show he should translate that to the NFL level. Pittsburgh desperately needs an explosive running back who can do it all. Who knows if Najee Harris will return, but taking Giddens here would help solve the running game problems.

Steelers Mock Draft Round 5: Quincy Riley, CB, Louisville

Signing a cornerback in free agency might be the best way to address this need.

There are plenty of quality cornerbacks in this draft, but the Steelers could sign one in free agency to take this need off the front burner. If they sign someone, they should still investigate other cornerbacks in the later rounds. Taking a secondary member who can help the club at a couple of spots in the secondary would be ideal.

Quincy Riley would be perfect to show some versatility as a rookie. He can play inside as a slot cornerback or challenge the Steeler's depth on the outside. Riley had a fantastic week at the Senior Bowl and caught the eyes of many coaches. Pittsburgh hasn't shown much pre-draft interest in cornerbacks yet, so signing and drafting one late might be the plan.

Steelers Mock Draft Round 7: Kurtis Rourke, QB, Indiana

Kurtis Rourke lasted until the seventh round of this mock draft simulation. He might not be a top prospect at the position, but he should be a reliable backup during his NFL career. Tomlin loves players who played in the MAC conference, and Rourke has. He played at Ohio University before transferring to Indiana this past year.

No one knows who the starting quarterback of the Steelers will be, but they need players behind whoever that turns out to be. It should be a rebuilt depth chart at the position unless Justin Fields or Russell Wilson re-signs. Rourke might not be a franchise-altering pick, but he can become a Mason Rudolph-type of player.

Steelers Mock Draft Round 7: Logan Brown, OT, Kansas

If Pittsburgh wants to stick to the Eagles model of roster building, then they must routinely invest draft capital into the trenches. They take Logan Brown as a depth tackle. He shouldn't see the field during his rookie year, as he still needs plenty of coaching to hopefully develop into something. Pittsburgh would be wise to sign a free agent to be the swing tackle behind their starters.

Brown is a terrific athlete and former five-star recruit out of high school. He attended Wisconsin University for his first four years before transferring to Kansas for his last college season. He has mostly played on the right side, but the hope is he can be a swing tackle or develop into a starter one day. Brown could be compared to Dan Moore Jr. coming out of the draft.

Steelers Mock Draft Round 7: Robbie Ouzts, TE, Alabama

Arthur Smith has too many tight ends on the roster, but that might not be enough for the Steelers offensive coordinator. He loves the position, and he prefers players who can block. There might be quantity at the position, but there isn't much quality. Taking a blocking tight end toward the end of the draft might be their best action.

Robbie Ouzts can play different positions. He will be best as a tight end or fullback in the NFL. Ouzts can play a similar role to Connor Heyward. If Ouzts can prove himself on special teams, he will have a great shot at making the roster. He knows how to block and completes his game with tenacity. The Alabama product is a good way to round out this mock draft.
