The Pittsburgh Steelers now feel like an overwhelming favorite to win the AFC North in the 2025 NFL Season. Can they close the deal? One way the team could is if its division rivals continue to trade players. The Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and Baltimore Ravens have all engaged in trades recently.
With the Browns and Ravens both 1-4, and the Bengals having lost three in a row at 2-3, the Steelers might be able to win this division with just nine wins when it's all said and done. It would be smart for them to hit the trade market in the coming weeks to try and add a player or two as well.
GM Omar Khan was aggressive this offseason and could keep that up. Well, the Ravens made one of the more puzzling deals we've seen by trading pass-rusher Odafe Oweh to the LA Chargers. Could the Steelers see the Ravens continue dealing players in a clear-cut 'white flag' moment in 2025?
Could the Baltimore Ravens keep the fire-sale going and trade a key veteran player?
Sayre Bedinger of NFL Spin Zone identified Mark Andrews as a top trade target for teams heading into the November 4th deadline, and this would end up making the entire Steelers organization laugh their rear ends off:
1. Mark Andrews, TE, Ravens
With the Baltimore Ravens falling to an extremely surprising 1-4 already this season, would anyone be surprised to see them make another couple of moves involving contract-year players? The Ravens are not typically a team we talk about selling at the NFL trade deadline, but they already made the aforementioned deal involving Odafe Oweh, and they might be willing to send off a player like Andrews.
Andrews is 30, Isaiah Likely is back healthy, and this might be Baltimore's last chance to get value for him.
Possible landing spots: Chargers, Jaguars
Bedinger makes great points. Mark Andrews is also a free agent following the 2025 NFL Season, so the time might be now for Baltimore to make the move. The Ravens have been dealing with a lot this year - not only have the injuries piled up, but the defense just hasn't been good. They are dead last in points allowed per game thus far.
And it truly does not feel like things are going to turn around. This might be one of those years where the Ravens reset a little bit. Trading key veteran players on expiring contracts would not be a terrible move for the long-term, but it'd also make the Steelers laugh as well.
Things have gone pretty unexpectedly this year in the AFC North, so another big move like this would not be surprising.
