The November 4 NFL trade deadline is approaching, so it’s time for teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers to go out and acquire players who can help them contend in the postseason. Pittsburgh is 4-2 and, barring a collapse in the second half of the season, should make the playoffs. However, the team still has a few holes it needs to address.
Fortunately for the Steelers, one of the players who will address one of their needs is practically begging for a team to come get him. That player is Las Vegas Raiders receiver Jakobi Meyers. The veteran wideout requested a trade before the start of the season, and on Tuesday, he made it very clear that he still wants to be moved out of Vegas.

Does he still desire to be traded?
“Oh, for sure. But I'm a professional at the end of the day. I'm just trying to play good football.”
Pittsburgh Steelers should acquire Jakobi Meyers after the receiver’s plea to be traded
On Tuesday, Meyers admitted that he has no control over what happens at the trade deadline, but when asked if he still wants to be moved, he quickly responded, “Oh, for sure.” The blunt response is comical, but who could blame Meyers? The Raiders are currently 2-5, and were just blown out by the Kansas City Chiefs 31-0. Additionally, Meyers is playing on the final season of his current deal and hasn’t been extended by Las Vegas.
While making his intentions known, Meyers has continued to show up for the Raiders, playing in six games, catching 29 passes for 329 yards. However, he can’t trade himself, so he just has to wait and hope that some team will grant his wish. The Steelers should definitely be the team to free Meyers from Las Vegas.
Pittsburgh needs more depth in its wide receiver room, with the team still seeking a consistent option outside of D.K. Metcalf. Meyers has shown that he’s more than capable of being that guy. The veteran receiver had the best season of his career in 2024, catching 87 passes for 1,027 yards and four touchdowns. In his last four seasons, he has eclipsed 800 receiving yards each year, with two of those seasons being with the Raiders and two being with the New England Patriots.
Las Vegas trading Meyers to Pittsburgh would make sense for everyone involved. The Steelers would have a consistent WR2, Vegas would get something in return for a player it’s about to lose in free agency, and Meyers wouldn’t have to play for a team he no longer wants to be a part of.
