Steelers fans have every reason to laugh at the Texans' Terrible Towel curse

Although the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans have yet to face off this season, the Texans are begging for mercy. The teams faced off back on January 12 in a Wildcard playoff matchup. The battle ended in Houston's favor, but after the contest was where the Texans went wrong. Their mascot, Toro, ripped a Terrible Towel in half, and it's been blamed for why that franchise has seen nothing but failure since.

One thing is for certain, every team should know better by now about messing with that iconic towel.

Everyone who desecrates it in any fashion seemingly has a curse put on them. It always comes back to haunt them, no matter if that's from the Steelers directly or not. Since tearing the sacred Terrible Towel in half, the Texans have gone on to have a winless record. They're riding a 0-8 record, including their playoff elimination, preseason, and regular season.

No one has been able to successfully mock the Terrible Towel and get away with it. Steelers Nation can't help but laugh at Houston's failures, especially after they were the ones who ousted them from the playoffs last year, extending Pittsburgh's playoff drought. Toro has seemingly tried to make amends before, but that hasn't stopped the curse from causing more losses.

Texans season continues to spiral since messing with the Pittsburgh Steelers' Terrible Towel

This season continues to unravel for the Texans. They hold a 0-4 record, and there seems to be no turnaround in sight. Their once-feared defense has been playing poorly, and their offense has shown no signs of progress. They might've beaten the Steelers in the playoffs, but after an easy win on the scoreboard, Houston got stomped by the New England Patriots the following week.

Pittsburgh isn't in great shape after their latest loss to the Cleveland Browns this past Thursday, but at least they are doing better than Houston.

That is a statement many would've called you foolish for predicting before the season began. The Texans were considered playoff locks going into the year, but the opposite has happened. They are flirting with the potential of becoming an NFL bottom-feeder.

At the end of the day, using the Terrible Towel curse is always a fun story to watch, but the Texans have bigger fish to fry.

They need their defense to step up, but they have yet to find their groove. Their offense found a way to succeed later in the season last year and carried that into a playoff win over Pittsburgh, so maybe they're hoping for a similar outcome. Getting back into the postseason with a 0-4 record won't be an easy goal to accomplish.

The Steelers have their own issues, so reveling in this Terrible Towel curse that Houston is dealing with right now is worthless. They also have to get their defensive struggles turned around and field a more efficient offense from week to week. Although it's nice to see that curse is still alive and well, it won't save the fanbase's main focus: praying to see the Steelers win a playoff game this season.
