One thing you cannot say is Mike Tomlin is a poor salesman. He knows how to sell Pittsburgh Steelers fans on the idea they can compete each year. It has led him to a career of mediocrity other than his first handful of years, which got him a Super Bowl victory and landed him another appearance in the big game.

Omar Khan has been hailed a hero since being promoted to general manager in 2022. Since then, he has made some good moves, but the lack of significant wins on the football field haunts them. Who knows if Khan or Tomlin have more power in the organization? It appears that Tomlin is steering the ship with Khan in tow.

The two figure heads of the organization struggle with reality as the city they call home is tired of the mushy middle. Pittsburgh doesn't accept the "never had a losing season" argument. They want postseason success, and this franchise is far from it. They just finished last season with five losses in a row, and teams should seek countless changes.

Khan's recent media availability at the NFL Combine proves the Steelers are comfortable with where they are.

Omar Khan is fully behind Mike Tomlin's con job with the Pittsburgh Steelers

Brooke Pryor of ESPN was in attendance when Khan spoke to a group of reporters. While he mentioned the disgust of losing five games in a row to complete the season, he understands the frustrations of fans.

Pittsburgh is enraged by the current state of their beloved Steelers franchise. The organization keeps saying there will be change, but there have been few alterations.

They say work is being done so this skid at the end of the season doesn't continue to happen. When you research the clubs performance to end the campaign under Tomlin, it has only gotten worse. His motivational tactics must wear off after the holiday season. Everyone wanted to see the Steelers make bigger moves to improve their club this offseason, but it doesn't look promising.

Khan also mentioned to Pryor and other reporters in attendance that they are open to bringing back many familiar faces. Guys like Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, and Najee Harris have kept open communication regarding possible returns. Most fans would be happy for Fields to re-sign, but none of those guys are going to improve this team.

According to Pittsburgh's general manager, don't expect many changes to happen regarding their players. There will be minor tweaks between now and the conclusion of the draft unless unforeseen collapses in negotiations happen. It is baffling how foolish Khan and Tomlin look as they prepare for free agency. They expect the postseason struggles to end with the same team on the field next season.

Fans deserve better. They are a smart group who like to hold the Steelers accountable. The top brass of the football club are aware of their shortcomings yet all they seem to care about is staying in mediocrity. It is truly an ugly time for the organization.

Yes, fans would hate to see the team tank for draft picks, but it would add hope for the future rather than the soggy situation they sit with.
