According to several members of the Pittsburgh Steelers media, the team might be interested in acquiring Chris Olave in a trade with the New Orleans Saints. Adam Crowley, the host of 93.7 The Fan, has connections inside the Steelers organization. He claims he got a two-word text saying, "Chris Olave." That message came from someone inside Pittsburgh's facility.
Other reports have confirmed this story, but Olave doesn't seem likely to come to town.
The Steelers remain in the market for an upgrade at the receiver spot. They have DK Metcalf, but none of the receivers behind them are proven playmakers. They just traded George Pickens, and there doesn't appear to be any urgency to replace him.
Steelers general manager Omar Khan will keep lines of communication open, but there are no guarantees that he will bring anyone in.
When you look at the talent Pickens and Olave present, they would be a good match. Olave has proven to have the potential of a top receiver in the NFL when healthy, but he hasn't been able to stay on the field. They traded Pickens because of his locker room distractions, and turning around to add someone like Olave doesn't add up.
Pittsburgh Steelers potential trade for Chris Olave doesn't do justice to moving George Pickens
While it seems unlikely the Saints want to move Olave, they could listen to trade offers. New Orleans appears to be starting a rebuild, so they could use as many draft picks as possible.
The Steelers have an extra third-round pick in the upcoming draft, resulting from the Pickens trade. Adding Olave would bring in a new box of red flags for Pittsburgh to work through during the approaching campaign.

Olave is a quality teammate by most accounts, but his number of injuries has been difficult to witness. He has suffered four concussions during his young career in the NFL. Four concussions during a long NFL career is a lot, but suffering that amount in just three seasons is alarming. Olave could be forced into early retirement if these issues continue to transpire.
It's not hard to see Olave's abundance of talent. In theory, the Steelers would improve by adding him via trade. Losing a lunatic like Pickens and adding a quality person like Olave would be a good move.
Olave's injuries have been his biggest hurdle. It would push the Steelers into a massive gamble that could come back to bite them if he suffers another concussion.
Getting rid of Pickens was the right call, but not having a replacement in mind will destroy them.
Reports have come out claiming many within the Steelers locker room are relieved that Pickens is off the team. Replacing his production won't be burdensome with Metcalf in the fold, but they need another quality veteran in their second receiver spot.
Olave would solve their problems and possibly add an upgrade if he can stay on the field. Acquiring this injury-prone receiver would be a boom-or-bust move for Pittsburgh.
