As the wait drags on and the uncertainty surrounding his decision continues, fans remain in the dark about whether he’ll suit up for the Pittsburgh Steelers or retire. The saga has gone on long enough. Tuesday marked the first day of OTAs for the Steelers, and Pittsburgh still doesn’t have a clear answer on who its quarterback will be.
The possibility of Aaron Rodgers coming to Pittsburgh has sparked mixed reactions among fans, and one Steelers Hall of Fame QB has made it clear he's firmly against the idea. His recent comments on a radio show left no doubt about his opposition to the team pursuing Rodgers.
Terry Bradshaw scoffs at the thought of Aaron Rodgers joining Steelers
Terry Bradshaw has never been one to hold back his thoughts, especially when it comes to his former team. Over the years, he has been openly critical of the Steelers, and that did not change when he appeared as a guest on Chicago radio station 103.7 The Buzz's Morning Mayhem Show. When the topic of Aaron Rodgers potentially signing with Pittsburgh came up, Bradshaw did not hold back. He said,
"That is to me just a joke," Bradshaw said. "What are you going to do? Bring him in for one year? Are you kidding me?"
Unfortunately, that is exactly what the Steelers seem poised to do. They are preparing to roll the dice on another veteran bridge quarterback for another year, hoping the second try will produce different results. Bradshaw was not done taking shots at Rodgers.
"That guy needs to stay in California," Bradshaw continued. "Go somewhere and chew on bark. Whisper to the gods out there."
It is clear Bradshaw is not a fan of Rodgers or the idea of him joining the team he once led to greatness.
At this point, it feels like the Steelers are just delaying the inevitable. They need a reset, a true rebuild. But in typical Steelers fashion, they refuse to go that route. Instead, they keep pushing forward with the same formula, hoping it will somehow fix itself. If this is the final run for an aging core, then so be it.
But let’s not pretend the roster or this coaching staff is built for anything more than that. This is a team desperately trying to win a playoff game, and that’s all they are at this point—nothing more, nothing less.
