It's hard to believe we're already at the point in the year when we are talking about the broadcast crews about to call a Steelers game that is just days away. On Wednesday, we found out which crew of announcers will get the pleasure of commentating the first Pittsburgh Steelers game of the preseason against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

CBS Sports PR shared a post on X confirming the broadcast crew for Pittsburgh's Week 1 preseason game. This contest in Jacksonville will be called by Ian Eagle, J.J. Watt, and Evan Washburn. Eagle, the long-time play-by-play announcer, will kick off another season of coverage, while Washburn will bring us the latest news and updates from the sidelines.

Ironically, the Steelers will have Watt as the color commentator just weeks after little brother T.J. Watt inked a massive three-year, $123 million extension with Pittsburgh.

J.J. Watt is extremely familiar with the Jaguars after spending 10 seasons in the AFC South as a member of the Houston Texans. Now the three-time Defensive Player of the Year and future Hall of Famer will begin duties in the broadcast booth with CBS in 2025.

Eagle, Watt, and Washburn make up CBS's No. 2-billed broadcast crew, and Watt's football experience, insight, and colorful personality should be perfect for the role.

Pittsburgh Steelers fans should get top-notch preseason entertainment against the Jacksonville Jaguars

There's only so much to get excited about during the preseason, especially when starters are resting. However, the Pittsburgh Steelers are set to have dozens of young players take the field in what could prove to be defining performances that could help shape their future with the team.

Fans are stoked to watch rookie draft picks Derrick Harmon and Kaleb Johnson in action (though we, unfortunately, won't see sixth-round quarterback Will Howard due to injury).

The excitement of these players seeing the field for the first time will be matched by J.J. Watt and a talented broadcast crew calling the game. T.J. Watt is not expected to play in this contest, but his big brother is sure to mention him in the broadcast booth a time or two.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars will kick off their preseason opener on August 9 at 7 pm in Jacksonville.
