The Pittsburgh Steelers' focus in the NFL draft is becoming clearer as the event inches closer. They are well over halfway done with their 30 allotted visits with prospects, and it's no surprise where they have their attention focused.

Defensive line, running back, quarterback, and wide receiver have dominated the total visits. With major needs at all of those positions, where they go with their first-round pick is far from set in stone.

Recent news, however, suggests that QB may be more of a possibility than originally thought. Not only has the team met with the likes of Jaxon Dart and Tyler Shough, but a recent report has them set to bring in their most high-profile QB prospect yet.

Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly bringing in Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders for pre-draft visit

According to Noah Strackbein of Sports Illustrated, Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders will be visiting with the Steelers this week. It's no surprise to see Pittsburgh bring him in for a visit, especially with many mock drafts suggesting he could fall if the Cleveland Browns or New York Giants don't pick him early in the first round.

While it makes sense for the Steelers to at least prepare for the reality where Sanders falls into their lap, it's still unlikely that they could select him without moving up from pick 21.

In a weak QB class, teams could be willing to take Sanders high, even if he lacks the elite traits most top picks at the position have. Being the son of Deion Sanders also plays a role, even if it doesn't change the kind of player he ultimately is.

If Sanders does indeed make it all the way to 21, however, I would still question the fit with Arthur Smith and what the Steelers have offensively. Top receivers George Pickens and D.K. Metcalf are both primarily vertical targets, and Sanders' biggest weakness is his limited arm talent.

The star QB may have been an effective deep passer in college, but there is no guarantee that will translate at the pro level. Still, passing on a player with his blend of his accuracy and pedigree would be hard to justify with what the QB room currently looks like.
