When the NFL dropped the 2025 schedule, I did what any loyal fan would do—I dove straight into the matchups and started mapping out wins, losses, and “maybe” games for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

But it wasn’t until I read Bleacher Report’s early prediction that I truly smiled in agreement. They forecast a 10-7 finish for Pittsburgh, and honestly, I think they’re right on the money.

Betting on the Steelers to start the year strong won’t be easy, especially if you’ve been following the offseason chaos. Omar Khan’s front office might have seemed calm and calculated. But for those of us steeped in Steel City tradition, the past few months were anything but ordinary.

The biggest shock? The complete breakup with the 2024 quarterback room. Watching Russell Wilson and Justin Fields walk after short stints left a void—and some anxiety. These were two capable leaders, and now, there’s uncertainty at the most important position in football.

Still, it wasn’t all doom and gloom.

The blockbuster acquisition of DK Metcalf in March was a statement move. Rumors about Aaron Rodgers potentially joining the fold only added fuel to optimism. But then came the curveball—trading George Pickens in early May.

Bleacher Report give Pittsburgh Steelers a fighting chance after 2025 NFL schedule release

The George Pickens left Arthur Smith’s offense without a reliable secondary threat, sparking doubts about whether this team could score enough to compete.

Through all of that, one thing remains certain: the schedule is locked in. No more rumors, no more speculation—just matchups and time to prepare.

When I saw Bleacher Report’s 10-7 projection, I saw a group of analysts who truly understood what this team is capable of, despite the holes.

Yes, Mike Tomlin’s offense has questions. But Pittsburgh’s defense is the foundation. That’s what gives me confidence. They don’t face a true offensive juggernaut until Week 7 against Joe Burrow and the Bengals.

When the Steelers enter that matchup 4-2 or 5-1, do not be shocked.

Games against the Packers, Bills, Ravens, and Lions after Week 7 will be the test. But by then, this squad should have found its identity. They’ll be battle-tested and ready.

Bleacher Report sees it. I see it. This team has the grit and coaching to hit 10 wins. And if they do, no one will be surprised—at least not in Pittsburgh.
