Plenty of information is coming out of the NFL Combine. Stories across the league have created rumblings across the landscape. Fans are intrigued about what rumors could result from the event for showing off incoming draft picks. Instead, it has trade rumors and drama regarding the upcoming market in free agency.
As the workouts begin on the field so prospects can try and win favor, many will focus on other activities. Teams will meet with certain players heading into the NFL. The Steelers continue to be active during this pre-draft process. Skip too much attention to what Pittsburgh is doing at the NFL Combine, but it could expose their plan.
This mock draft runs off the tea leaves that Mike Tomlin and company are leaving behind, and the Steelers go after an NFL Combine stud early.
Pittsburgh Steelers 3-round mock draft:
Steelers Mock Draft Round 1: Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon
The best way Pittsburgh can replace Cam Heyward is by drafting his clone. They have already shown interest during the early portion of the pre-draft process, but the Steelers like Derrick Harmon. It's been 14 years since the organization used their top selection on Heyward, but they might not forget the benefits they received after investing in him.
For comparison since it's been made:

Derrick Harmon:
6'4" 1/2
313 pounds
34 3/8-inch arms
10 3/8-inch hands
Cam Heyward (out of OSU):
6'5"
294 pounds
34 1/4-inch arms
10 1/8-inch hand size
Harmon holds shocking similarities to Heyward when he was entering the draft process. Harmon is half an inch shorter, but their arm sizes are nearly identical. Heyward was also lighter, but that forced him into a developmental phase during his early days with the Steelers. Harmon is ready to start immediately and could make a massive impact.
Steelers Mock Draft Round 2: Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame
Free agency seems like the best bet for Pittsburgh to fill the need at cornerback, but I digress.
In our world, the need for cornerback needs filled, and this mock draft comes through. Benjamin Morrison has met with the Steelers at the NFL Combine and could be a solid starter at the next level. The biggest concern with Morrison will remain his injury recovery. He suffered a season-ending hip injury this past October. His health designation will be the biggest indicator of his draft grade.
Pittsburgh needs a cornerback with Donte Jackson, James Pierre, and Cam Sutton as pending free agents. They could use some help in the slot and at outside cornerback. Morrison would be a nice fit as the Steelers prefer players to play up press coverage. He needs to prove he is ready to bounce back from his injury and show there are no lingering issues.

Steelers Mock Draft Round 3: Quinn Ewers, QB, Texas
Welcome to the portion of the mock draft where fans could stir up a riot!
As Justin Fields and Russell Wilson possibly return, the Steelers would be foolish to take a quarterback too early this year. They would be best suited to re-sign Fields on a short-term contract and consider taking a quarterback in a loaded draft class in 2026. They could take a stab at the position, and Quinn Ewers might be their best bet.
Taking him in the third round might be rich, but investing in the most vital position in football is their best method of attack. The Steelers met with Ewers at the NFL Combine, and he is someone who could continue to develop at the next level. He hasn't lived up to the hype in college, but his best days could be ahead of him. Ewers has all the tools, but the college standout needs to develop in the NFL.
