The NFL Draft pre-draft process kicks off with two All-Star games: the East-West Shrine Bowl and the Senior Bowl. It presents perfect opportunities for prospects looking to make a name for themselves. The Pittsburgh Steelers have found quality prospects at both events throughout their draft history. With the 2026 NFL Draft being held in Pittsburgh, this year is more important than most.

With a full week of practices topped off with a competitive game, those prospects attending the Senior Bowl have a shot to jump their draft stock.

A strong showing could see them rise draft boards around the NFL and give themselves a shot at sneaking into the earlier rounds. The Steelers have numerous draft picks this year and several needs that must be addressed in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Pittsburgh Steelers top draft prospects to keep a close eye on at the Senior Bowl

Keylan Rutledge, OG, Georgia Tech

As a pending free agent, Isaac Seumalo may be difficult to secure for a contract extension.

The Steelers will need a left guard, and Keylan Rutledge could be their fix. Mason McCormick has played on both sides during his football career, so he could slide over to the left side. Rutledge has plenty of starting experience at right guard and could be in consideration with a strong showing at the Senior Bowl.

Kaytron Allen, RB, Penn State

Kenneth Gainwell is set for a massive payday in free agency, but Pittsburgh needs a tandem partner for Jaylen Warren. This draft lacks top-tier running backs for the most part, but it does feature prospects who could fit their system. Kaytron Allen jumps off the tape as a potential Steelers draft darling. He is a tough and physical player who can do it all, and played in a tandem at Penn State.

Bud Clark, S, TCU

The Steelers’ secondary is likely to appear much changed compared to their performance in the latest playoff debacle. Bud Clark is someone who held high expectations heading into the season, but he didn't do anything to fix concerns about his game. In reality, he is an experienced safety who can play in the box or in the slot. Clark's versatility is something Pittsburgh could use to its advantage.

Tyren Montgomery, WR, John Carroll

The best thing about the Senior Bowl is the chance for small school prospects to catch the eyes of NFL scouts.

Tyren Montgomery comes from John Carroll, a Division III collegiate program. He played his final two years of college football there and dominated. Montgomery will have an opportunity at the Senior Bowl to prove he can compete against top talent in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Diego Pavia, QB, Vanderbilt

Who knows if Aaron Rodgers will return or not, but the Steelers could seek some fresh blood at the quarterback position. Diego Pavia is a fiery signal caller heading into the NFL Draft with plenty of accomplishments. Pavia is short for NFL standards, but he has shown he can compete against elite competition at the college level. A big performance during the Senior Bowl will jump his stock.
