With two weeks and counting until the November 10 NFL trade deadline, the Pittsburgh Steelers are front and center in many rumors. The organization appears eager to acquire some quality players via trade to boost their roster to new heights. If Pittsburgh truly wants to compete this season, then they have no other choice but to bring fresh blood into the building.
This big board shows which trade targets they should prioritize going forward.
Many would like the Steelers to go after a big-time wide receiver like Brian Thomas Jr., but there could be another name on the horizon. Perhaps adding to their defense would be a bold move, but the club could need some help in the secondary. Any of these names on the trade big board would help Pittsburgh, but only those near the top of the list could make a massive impact.
Pittsburgh Steelers' trade deadline big board continues to fluctuate with the clock ticking
Although the Steelers' secondary has seen a solid bounce back in recent weeks, it's hard to envision a scenario where that success continues.
With the Eagles' season falling apart due to various losses to their roster for various reasons, they seem to have little choice but to sell before the trade deadline. Riq Woolen would be a tremendous addition to Pittsburgh's defense. The veteran cornerback has speed and terrific coverage abilities, plus he is a pure rental on the trade block.
As mentioned earlier, if the Steelers are looking to make a splash, Brian Thomas Jr. makes a ton of sense if Jacksonville is willing to part with him. The biggest concern would be whether Thomas Jr. could succeed at a high level with his next team. It would likely cost a high price to land Thomas Jr. in a trade, but if the Steelers want to upgrade their offense, he's an option who could level them up.
Speaking of upgrading the secondary, this group could use some help. Luckily, the Steelers have DeShon Elliott back, but adding Budda Baker would be a terrific addition. The star safety has been one of the best at his position for a long time. Jaquan Brisker has shown some signs of struggle this season, and Baker is someone who should be on the trade block and could interest Pittsburgh.
Maybe adding a defensive tackle via trade isn't top of mind, but the value of DeForest Buckner is extremely high going into the trade deadline. He is one of the more notable names who could get moved in the coming weeks. Pittsburgh might be wise to provide some insurance in case Derrick Harmon struggles once he returns from injury.
Buckner would be on heck of a backup plan.
One area of need flying under the radar right now is at inside linebacker. Bringing back Elandon Roberts is a nice piece of business, but Pittsburgh should be looking for a legit upgrade. The Commanders have one of the better inside linebackers in football with Frankie Luvu. Acquiring him shouldn't cost too much, and he would be an immediate impact player for the middle of their defense.
It seems like Chris Godwin would be a top target for many clubs if he became available before the trade deadline. He is a proven weapon, but acquiring the playmaker should make many wonder if he would be next in line on the long list of veteran receivers who failed in Pittsburgh in the recent past. Godwin is a dependable target who remains productive, but he isn't a slam-dunk upgrade.
If Pittsburgh refuses to believe their guard situation is solved this season, adding Landon Dickerson could be a safe insurance policy. He shouldn't cost much to acquire, and Philly is struggling to stay relevant this season. Dickerson has only played guard during his career, but he did play center in college. He hasn't been great this season, but Dickerson could help Pittsburgh in the trenches.
This probably wouldn't be the splash that Steelers Nation wants—and for good reason.
Quentin Johnston would give off Mike Williams vibes from a few years ago during the trade deadline. Johnston has more talent and a better resume than Williams, but he does have some drop issues. The offense wouldn't vastly improve with Johnston entering the mix, but they would be better off acquiring him if it were a cheap addition.
Speaking of drop issues, in comes Jerry Jeudy, one of my Steelers trade big board players rumored to be on the trade block. He is a speedy veteran receiver with prior production numbers that could wow many. The issue is that the Browns probably wouldn't trade him within the division, and Jeudy wouldn't be an impact acquisition. He could be a nice upgrade, but not someone who moves the needle too much.
Remember Donte Jackson, the cornerback who played for Pittsburgh during the 2024 season? Well, he could be a trade target who makes for a sensible reunion.
Jackson is getting older, but he's produced nine interceptions during the two seasons leading up to this one. He's off to a troublesome start with the Chargers. Jackson is a solid veteran option who could provide more insurance for the Steelers' beat-up secondary.
