The Pittsburgh Steelers will play host to the 2026 NFL Draft, and many in town are excited to host the event. The 2025 season hasn't begun yet, but it will influence the franchise's draft plans by the time spring arrives. Unless Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers surprise everyone, their union will only hold for this season. That will thrust the quarterback position back into the spotlight.

They might have to trade up for one of the top players at the position if they want an impact player. It should be a strong group of signal callers, no matter if the top prospect, Arch Manning, leaves the collegiate ranks or not. Some names might have a breakout year and emerge from the shadows. This loaded class could get better if that happens.

Taylen Green is entering his second season as the starting quarterback of the Arkansas Razorbacks. He produced a solid start to his career there, and things appear to be on the rise for the young gunslinger. He has an all-around game that NFL scouts will love. A massive campaign would get him into top-round conversations by the time the 2026 NFL Draft rolls around.

You can connect the dots between Pittsburgh and the top quarterback prospects in the draft.

Pittsburgh might have a less mobile version of Rodgers as their quarterback in 2025, but they aren't opposed to having a fast player at the position. They had Russell Wilson and Justin Fields as their signal callers a year prior, and both pride themselves on their ability to scurry across the football field. Green has some comparisons to Fields, which fans will love.

Green is coming off his first campaign with Arkansas after playing his first three seasons with the Boise State Broncos. He has become a better passer throughout his career, which is promising to witness. He isn't on many radars at the moment, but neither was Cam Ward at this point last year. Ward had a terrific season, and it resulted in him being the top pick in the 2025 draft.

During his time at Boise State, Green accumulated 3,794 passing yards, a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 25-15, 1,026 rushing yards, and 19 rushing touchdowns. He leaned on his rushing ability as a Bronco, but his decision to transfer to Arkansas has paid off big time. His addition to the SEC has upped his status in the college landscape.

His first season with the Razorbacks produced his best year. He gained 3,756 total yards and accumulated 23 touchdowns. Green has shown an ability to improve each campaign, and it might continue this year. Arkansas isn't the best team in the SEC, but this quarterback will keep them in the hunt. If his steady progression continues, the Steelers could have him in their sights.
