2023 NFL Mock Draft: Insane run on quarterbacks has Steelers going defense
5. Seattle Seahawks select: Tyree Wilson, EDGE, Texas Tech
Seattle could go a lot of ways with this pick, but they believe in Geno Smith to be their quarterback for now. They decide to add some pass rush to their front unit by selecting Tyree Wilson. He is a perfect fit for what the Seahawks like in an edge rusher, even though this seems like a small reach for this player.
6. Detroit Lions select: Bryan Bresee, DT, Clemson
Bryan Bresee goes to the Lions as this group continues to have their arrow pointed up. Bresee could be an option for the Steelers if he drops at the draft, but that seems more unlikely with each passing day. He was great at Clemson and should add another great weapon for this club in the defensive trenches.
7. Las Vegas Raiders select: C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State
Derek Carr is out as the Raiders' starting quarterback and Tom Brady just retired, so that option seems off the table for now. Instead, Las Vegas decides to invest in one of the more successful quarterbacks in college football in recent years. C.J. Stroud should provide this group with some explosiveness that their offense has been lacking for a while.
8. Atlanta Falcons select: Myles Murphy, EDGE, Clemson
The Falcons could go in many different directions this draft, which could include another pick invested in a quarterback if a certain scenario plays out. They go with an edge rusher here by picking Myles Murphy out of Clemson. He was a highly productive edge rusher in college and should be able to help this defense get after the opposition's quarterback easier.
9. Carolina Panthers select: Anthony Richardson
Another quarterback is taken here as the Panthers have continued to show desperation in trying to quickly turn things around. They take the most physically gifted quarterback in this draft with Anthony Richardson here. He can do it all, but his stats in college should not be investigated much as his ceiling is very high.
10. Philadelphia Eagles select: Peter Skoronski
Somehow the Eagles just got to the Super Bowl and find themselves with the tenth overall pick. They could be a prime trading spot for some other clubs trying to nab a certain player they like. Philadelphia sits still and takes a young tackle that could play either guard spot as well with Peter Skoronski.
