Lamar Jackson was re-signed by the Ravens, but their defense has question marks

One of the biggest news stories that the NFL world monitored was Lamar Jackson and his future with the Ravens. Most took sides on if the club should re-sign the former MVP or not after he has yet to prove that he can stay healthy and rely on his passing in recent years. After a trade request and plenty of back and forth, both parties were able to make a contract reality.

Implications of that new deal on the Ravens cap will continue to be a battle during the entirety of that contract, but it will benefit the team with him there rather than move on. He is still an explosive playmaker with the ball in his hands, but he does carry concerns. Jackson has been hurt consistently in recent seasons and still struggles in big moments.

One area that has gone under the radar this offseason for Steelers fans checking out their rivals is their issues on defense. After their release of Calais Campbell, their starters on the defensive line have taken a hit via experience and talent. They will have some unproven starters there and some question marks at cornerback opposite Marlon Humphrey.

It will likely be a tough season for Baltimore's defensive unit in the trenches unless some names come out of nowhere. Their linebacking group is one of the better areas on their roster, but that defensive line could pose a huge issue. If Jackson remains healthy, this team will be in contention, but it will have its own warts that might be too hard to overcome.
