The Steelers defense played opportunistic football and got turnovers at the right time

As I said, if you just looked at the final score, you would assume the game unfolded in the typical manner in which games between the Steelers and Ravens unfold. For the most part, that was the case, but I would say the game unfolded in the manner in which we needed it to unfold.

We were able to generate four sacks for a loss of twenty-eight total yards, were able to force and recover two fumbles, were able to keep the Ravens offense to roughly a thirty percent success rate on third downs, and were able to keep them to under four yards per play.

T.J. Watt, Mark Robinson, and Markus Golden tallied the aforementioned sacks. Watt finishes the 2023 regular season with nineteen sacks. Unfortunately, he went out of the game with an injury, otherwise he may have been able to notch one more sack to get to twenty.

Nevertheless, the defense played pretty well considering all the injuries we had been dealing with in the last several weeks. Players who could be categorized as role players or who could be categorized as 'fringe' players stepped up when we needed them to step up and were significant contributors to our winning cause.

Let's see what else we learned.
