The Steelers have ostensibly righted the ship but will it be too little, too late

That's really the 'sixty-four thousand dollar question', isn't it? After having lost three consecutive games to the Cardinals, Patriots, and Colts, respectively, it seemed as if the Steelers were just not going to win another game this season.

Fortunately, that was not the case as we have won two in a row. Mike Tomlin deserves all the credit for deciding to go with Rudolph as the starting QB over sticking with Mitch Trubisky, but will it prove to be a 'too little, too late' situation?

As it stands right now, we need to beat the Ravens on Saturday and then need a lot of help if we want to be playing meaningful football in the next few weeks. Frankly, I don't see that happening. I've been watching Steelers football for forty-five-plus years.

Anytime you need multiple scenarios to play out in order the make the playoffs it means that you did not take care of your own business earlier in the season when you had the opportunity to do so. That is exactly the position in which the Steelers find themselves right now.

Had Tomlin turned to Rudolph for the Colts game, I am absolutely convinced that we would have won that game and we would be talking about playoff seeding rather than potentially being on the outside looking in.

For that reason, Tomlin deserves to take some heat for not handing the ball over to Rudolph sooner. My son and I both predicted that a playoff berth would most likely hinge on winning two games, the Colts game and the Seahawks game.

We only solved half of the equation. Let's hope another avenue presents itself on Saturday with a win against the Ravens, then other avenues present themselves on Sunday. As I have always said, hope is not a plan, but it's all we have left.
