4 burning questions Steelers desperately need to answer in Week 10 vs. Packers
By Andrew Falce
The Steelers find themselves in the thick of things this week, going against a Packers team that is struggling and in the middle of a tight AFC North race. While a non-divisional team isn’t the most pivotal win, this should be a gimme, and Pittsburgh has to capitalize. If not, their playoff odds take a stiff hit.
Despite a big win on Thursday last week, this team still is lacking in a lot of areas. Neither side is completely doing their part, and this will eventually catch up with the team. A strong showing against Green Bay would be big. Here are four questions the Steelers must answer against the Packers.
4. Can the Steelers handle the slot receiver?
The Packers' offense has been a very hot and cold unit, but one of their better players has been Jayden Reed. While not a heavy hitter every week, he has thrived in the slot so far this season and has carved out a role on offense. He isn’t just an intermediate threat though, as his speed can make him potent down the seam.
Pittsburgh hasn’t been stellar against the slot on defense this season. Chandon Sullivan and a hybrid Patrick Peterson haven’t thrived, and they allowed Kyle Philips to do some damage there a week ago. Limiting the talented rookie will be key. If not, the Packers could pick up some yards in chunks this Sunday. Pittsburgh needs to keep him in check and get better play out of the slot.
