4 moves that would turn Steelers' inside linebacker unit into one of the NFL's best

4) Restructure/Extend Myles Jack's contract
With one year left on the 2-year, $16 million contract that he signed as a free agent prior to last season, Jack could indeed be a salary cap casualty. But it's possible that the Steelers can convince him to restructure his contract to free up space for a trusted free agent to play alongside him.
Jack returning would provide some stability to the unit and would give the former Jacksonville Jaguars star an opportunity to set himself up for another payday in the future. He had a solid season last year, leading the team with 104 total tackles (61 solo), and adding three tackles for loss and three passes defensed in his first season as a Steeler.
He was one of the positives in Pittsburgh's 2-6 start, as Jack totaled 72 of his tackles in that span. But he was injured in the eighth game and arguably wasn't fully healthy for the rest of the season.
